Canapé 'Curves'

This is a rare "curves" sofa by Paris-based artist and designer, Mattia Bonetti. It was a special order commissioned directly from the artist in 2003 and comes from an important private collection in Switzerland. Artist initials “MB” monogrammed on the backrest.

This model was illustrated in Architectural Digest (France), October 2008, in “La force de l’art, Long Island” by M. Rus, J. S. Arango and S. Watson.

About the Maker:
Mattia Bonetti (b. 1952) is a Swiss-born designer and artist based in Paris. Trained in textile design in Lugano, he began his career as a textile designer, stylist and photographer before turning to furniture in 1979. He later worked extensively with designer Élisabeth Garouste and has continued independently across furniture, lighting and interiors. His work is held in the collections of the Centre Pompidou and Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
