“Locus Solus” Chaise Longue

A rare wheeled chaise longue from Gae Aulenti’s “Locus Solus” collection for Poltronova. Its bright yellow tubular frame supports a low, curved seat upholstered in patterned fabric, combining indoor comfort with the playful character of 1960s Italian outdoor design.

About the Maker:
Gae Aulenti (1927–2012) was an Italian architect, designer, magazine editor and professor who became a trailblazer for women in European architecture and design. Her work ranged from furniture and lighting to major cultural projects, most notably the transformation of a former Paris railway station into the Musée d’Orsay. An example of the “Locus Solus” lounger is held by the Brooklyn Museum, which recognizes the design as an exceptional work of Italian Radical Design.
