'Lino' Settee

A two-seat “Lino” settee by Italian architect and designer Marzio Cecchi, produced in Italy in the 1960s. Newly upholstered in deep teal leather, the piece features padded, channel-stitched arms and legs, a low architectural profile, and brass detailing at the base. Its bold construction reflects Cecchi’s interest in furniture as both functional design and expressive form.

About the Maker
Marzio Cecchi was an Italian architect and designer born near Florence in 1940. After studying architecture at the University of Florence, he founded Studio Most in Florence in the 1960s, where he developed custom and limited-production furniture designs. His work is known for its sculptural forms, experimental materials, and architectural approach to interiors, with pieces often produced in small numbers. Cecchi’s career extended internationally, with connections to Rome, Düsseldorf, Tokyo, São Paulo, Los Angeles and New York, and his furniture remains sought after by collectors of Italian modern and postwar design.
