About the Maker: Osvaldo Borsani (1911–1985) was a central figure in 20th-century Italian design and architecture, known for bridging early modernist experimentation with postwar industrial production. Based in Varedo, Borsani began working within his family’s firm, Arredamenti Borsani, where he developed finely crafted, often highly sculptural furniture in the interwar period. In 1953, he co-founded Tecno, a company that would become synonymous with innovative, technologically advanced design. Borsani’s early works demonstrate a strong interest in geometry, proportion, and craftsmanship, anticipating the broader evolution of Italian modernism in the decades that followed.
