Monumental Floor Lamp, Primitive Series

A monumental floor lamp from Studio Nucleo’s Primitive series, designed by Piergiorgio Robino and Daniele Ragazzo. Made of cardboard, fiberglass and polyester resin, the piece was produced as a unique Nucleo edition. The model was originally made in white in 2010 and recolored pink in 2020. Studio Nucleo describes the Primitive series as a study in reducing forms to elementary geometry, with pieces made entirely by hand without molds and finished in resin to preserve visible marks and imperfections.

About the Maker:
Studio Nucleo is a Turin-based collective founded in 1997 by Piergiorgio Robino, who serves as the studio’s creative director. The studio is composed of artists and designers working with new materials, with resin described as one of its signature materials. Its Primitive collection includes furniture and lighting made by hand without molds, using resin finishes that reveal marks and imperfections.

Daniele Ragazzo is a Milan-based artist and designer trained in product design at the Politecnico di Milano. During his collaboration with Studio Nucleo, he worked on pieces from the Primitive collection, a limited-edition body of work shown at venues including Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Gallerie Italienne in Paris and Nilufar in Milan.
