A luminous table lamp by Gino Sarfatti for Arteluce, model 590, characterized by its domed shade and suspended glass fringe. The shade is formed in cased (incamiciato) glass, paired with a structure of painted aluminum and brass elements. About the Maker:
Gino Sarfatti (1912–1985) was an Italian designer and founder of Arteluce, established in Milan in 1939. Over the course of his career, he designed more than 400 lighting fixtures, many of which explored new approaches to materials, construction, and illumination. Arteluce became an important platform for modern lighting design in Italy, and Sarfatti’s work is included in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
