About the Maker: Founded in Turin in 1944 by Giuseppe and Giovanni Donna, Cristal Art specialized in crystal, mirrors and glass furnishings. The company became known for decorative mirrored glass, including gold-toned mirrorwork and patented techniques for graduated mirror effects. By the postwar period, Cristal Art was part of Italy’s broader design culture around glass furniture and decorative interiors, often discussed alongside firms such as Fontana Arte. Designer Giuseppe Raimondi later served as artistic director, further connecting the company to Italy’s experimental midcentury and 1970s design scene.
