About the Maker
Gae Aulenti was an Italian architect, designer, and creative force whose work moved between interiors, furniture, lighting, exhibition design, and architecture. She is widely known for major cultural projects, including the transformation of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and gallery design work for the Centre Pompidou. Aulenti’s furniture often carries the same architectural intelligence found in her interiors: substantial materials, clear structure, and a refined sense of proportion. The “Jumbo” table reflects that approach through its solid marble construction, square slab top, and bold cylindrical corner supports. Architectural Digest describes the table as a square marble slab supported by four structural legs set at 45-degree angles, noting its continued appeal among designers and collectors.
