A landmark of Italian modern design, the ‘Ribbon’ CL9 chair was developed in 1961 by Cesare Leonardi and Franca Stagi as an exploration of a single continuous form. The seat, back, and arms flow together in one curve, made possible through molded fiberglass technology.

About the Makers: Cesare Leonardi (b. 1935) and Franca Stagi (b. 1937) were Italian architects and designers who opened a joint studio in Modena in 1963.
