An early large-scale version of Ingo Maurer’s landmark Bulb table lamp, produced by Design M. The lamp has a chrome-plated metal base, an opaline glass diffuser and its original manufacturer’s label.

About the Maker: Ingo Maurer (1932–2019) was a German lighting designer trained in typography and graphic design in Switzerland and Germany. In 1966, he designed Bulb, his first lighting fixture, and established Design M to produce his lighting designs. Bulb is held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
