About the Makers
Romano Dal Ri and Cristina Treu are Italian architects and designers whose documented furniture work includes pieces produced by Skipper in the early 1980s. Their work for the manufacturer reflects the postmodern Italian design language of the period, with architectural forms, strong silhouettes and an emphasis on material presence. A documented Dal Ri and Treu room divider/cabinet for Skipper from 1981 shows a similar interest in open structure and repeated linear detailing.

Skipper was an Italian furniture producer active in the late 20th century and is closely associated with marble furniture, including tables by designers such as Angelo Mangiarotti and Renato Polidori.
